The Importance of Fellowship

"And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near." Hebrews 10:25

This Christian life can feel like a roller coaster of emotions and experiences. One day you're in a mountain top experience only to be followed by a valley. Having a body of believers, a small group, and a mentor that you can share those life changes with is vital. These relationships should celebrate your success, rebuke your mess, and pour into you frequently. Today, consider some ways that you can pour into someone, identify someone to pour into you, and find more ways to grow spiritually. Happy Wednesday! :)

"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing." 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Great Expectations

"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay." 1 Peter 1:3-4

If that doesn't make you two step, I don't know what will! An inheritance, as defined in Webster, is the passing on of possessions or genetic qualities from parent to offspring. Choosing to accept Christ makes us a child of God and a member of this beautiful family. Our life is so much greater that the small trials we experience on earth (1 Peter 1:6-7). Let's live in expectation of that great things God will continue to do for us on earth, and the magnificent things waiting for us eternally. Happy Friday!

Church attendance: Is it really that important?

"Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another..." Hebrews 10:24-25

Since I moved to the middle of nowhere, 2.5 months ago, I have developed a new appreciation for the church. I wasn't looking for friends, family, or an social calendar, but that's what I got! How? Simply being faithful in attendance, committed and social. Getting plugged into a body of believers has been such an awesome experience. I even took the  "right hand of fellowship" on Sunday, yeah I'm legit LOL. Church is so much more than a Sunday service. It's the bride of Christ. It's the opportunity to build relationships, learn from one another, grow, and sometimes eat :) So I urge you to get involved (attend Sunday School, volunteer in ministry, speak to new people) and pour into the church as it pours into you. If want to know how to find a church or how to get involved in your current church, let me know. I'd love to help :) Happy Tuesday!

The Pastor, First Lady, & I after church on Sunday!

* SN: My parents happened to be in town this weekend too (totally unplanned, so they wanted to commemorate the moment ha!) isn't it funny how God planned that out?*
