Pass the Test

"The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure." 1 Corinthians 10:13

Don't you just love how plainly the New Living Translation is written? Everyone has things that they're dealing with and no temptation is harder or easier to pass than another. As you are renewing our minds and changing your hearts to be more like Christ, the tests will come harder than ever. As soon as you claim contentment, peace, joy, patience, etc. you will be tested in those areas. Be prepared. Put on the whole armor of God daily, and don't allow the trials and frustration to keep you bound and steal your joy, because that's what the enemy wants. Can I get an amen? :) Happy FRIDAY!

1 Corinthians 10

"No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." 1 Corinthians 10:13

Since we have the gift of free will, there are always options. We have the ability to follow the Holy Spirit's lead out of temptation, or follow the enemy into temptation. You know what tempts you, once you recognize that, avoid those situations like the plague. If you know you have a gossiping problem, practice self control and seek new companions. If you're fleeing from sexual immorality, don't chill and watch redbox movies into the wee morning hours. We don't have to be a slave to our sin, Jesus has offered us freedom in Him.

Are you seeking to please Christ or your flesh? Happy Thursday!

Matthew 18

Matthew 18:7-9 says that whatever causing you to sin, you should cut it off. Now, you aren't going to literally rip your eye out or cut your hand off, but if you're trying to stop cussing, you could avoid listening to music with profanity in it. If you're trying to stop gossiping, you can turn off the gossip filled reality TV shows. If you're working on controlling you thoughts and being more positive, stop hanging out with negative people. You have a part to play in your walk with Christ. Let's not seek sin. Let's seek the kingdom instead. What needs to be cut off in your life?

Happy Tuesday :)
